Hey friends and family!
I just want to thank you all for your continued support and let you know...
I DID IT!
I have officially hiked all 2,653 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail.
I wasn't sure how things would play out this year, but Cheer, Stevie Wonder, and I were able to hike our way through the Sierra and finish up the last of our PCT miles from July 15th to August 15th, exactly a month.
This time, I got to experience the Sierra in peak hiking season, without fear of drowning in a river or sliding to my death down an icy slope. We watched the stars at night, swam in alpine lakes almost every other day, and took on some of the most miles of the whole trail. It was beyond wonderful.
To make sure we could safely accomplish this during COVID-19, we took some extra precautions, including not hitchhiking at all, limiting our number of resupply stops in towns, and wearing face coverings when we couldn't safely social distance on the trail.
All this to say, I still have lots of stories to share with you guys from Washington and the Sierra, and I'm going to try and get the remainder of my trail journal up before I inevitably go back to work and get too busy again. Thanks for sticking with me!
Happy trails,
Calzone
Congratulations!!!
